General questions
Why are you cheaper than my dentist?
When you order an appliance from your dentist they’ll take your impressions. These impressions are then sent over to dental labs, such as us, where they’ll be used to manufacture your appliances which are returned to your dentist. Your dentist will then mark up the price & provide them to you. As you’re providing your impressions direct to our lab, we’re able to offer you much more affordable appliances directly, without the need for appointments.
Are your appliances safe to use?
Absolutely. Our appliances are exactly the same as thos you’d get from your dentist. Each appliance is made with medical-grade biocompatible materials, by professional technicians who would typically provide appliances to dentists. The only difference is we’re providing your appliances directly to you.
Will your appliances fit my teeth?
We guarantee each appliance you order from us will fit your teeth perfectly. If you’re not 100% happy we will put it right, whether you wish to have your appliances remade or refunded.
I already have a model or impression – can I provide this to you instead?
We’re able to work with resin or plastic models, however we’re not able to work with plaster or stone models. Please get in touch with our team with photos of your models so we can confirm we’re able to work on them for you before ordering.
Custom Retainers
Are these retainers soft or hard?
Your retainers will be made from hard / rigid Essix material. We aren’t able to offer soft retainers.
How thick will my retainers be?
Your retainers will be approximately 1mm thick, which is the standard thickness of a retainer typically provided by one’s dentist.
I have a fixed retainer behind my teeth – is this OK?
Yes – both the impression kit & the retainers themselves will be well suited to work with your fixed retainer. you do not need to follow any extra steps.
I have crowns or implants – is this OK?
The impression kit will be suitable if you have implants, however we do not recommend using it if you have crowns.
Night guards
What’s the difference between dual layer & single layer guards?
Our dual layer night guards have a soft inner layer to cushion your teeth, and a hard outer shell to keep your teeth protected. Our single layer guards are made from one solid layer. Our single layer guards are suited for heavy grinding, however if your grinding isn’t severe we’d recommend our dual layered guards for optimal comfort & pain reduction.
I have missing teeth, can I still use a night guard?
That’s absolutely fine, you can still use our night guards.
How thick are your night guards?
Both our dual layered guards & our single layered guards are around 2.5mm thick. We can provide thinner guards upon request, but 2.5mm is the perfect balance between durability & comfort.
Whitening trays
Do you provide whitening solution?
We do not provide whitening solution with our trays at this time.
What are reservoirs in the trays?
Reservoirs are small gaps between your teeth & the tray for your solution to fill. This allows your solution of choice to coat each tooth evenly, providing even bleaching for each tooth.
Will my trays leak when used?
Your trays will not leak when used. We manufacture each tray to be tightly fitted around your gum line, so that only your teeth come into contact with your whitening solution.
Can whitening trays be used in the same way as retainers?
Your whitening trays should not be used in place of a set of retainers. Whitening trays are soft & will not have enough rigidity to keep your teeth in place securely.
Impressions & kits
Will my impressions be returned with my order?
We try our best to return impressions with each order, these can be used again in the future when you need new retainers. Sometimes the impressions may be damaged and are unable to be returned.
I already have a model – can I provide this to you instead?
We’re able to work with resin or plastic models, however we’re not able to work with plaster or stone models. Please get in touch with our team with photos of your models so we can confirm we’re able to work on them for you before ordering.
Is it difficult to make my impressions?
It couldn’t be easier to make your impressions, it just takes a few minutes. A comprehensive guide will be included with your kit.
What does the impression kit include?
Your impression kit will include trays to hold your impressions, putty to take your impressions (plus extra in case you’ve made a mistake, or wish to re-do your impression), and a prepaid postage label to return your impressions to us.
Can I get a new impression kit?
If you need more impression putty or a new kit, please get in touch with our team & we’ll have a new one sent out for you at no cost.

Do you provide express shipping?
All kits & retainers are posted via Royal Mail Tracked 24 which is typically delivered the next day.
I’ve sent off my impressions, when will I get my appliances?
Once we have received your impressions we’ll have your appliances manufactured & posted back to you within 6 days.
I’ve lost my returns label
If you’ve lost your returns label, please get in touch with our team. We can either have a new label shipped out to you, or we can have one emailed to you to be printed at home.
